Setting trends for the seasons to come, the New York Fashion Week rightly created a buzz in the fashion and beauty world. Special emphasis was given to the eye makeup where the makeup artists revealed their genius creative streak. Here are our top 3 picks…
Gold and Glamour
The gold eyeshadow made a strong presence at the Tadashi Shoji’s show. The good news is that this colour compliments the Indian skin tone and makes the eyes stand out.
For the runway, a wash of gold shimmery eyeshadow was used. The intensity was high on the entire lid and faded towards the end. The entire area on the eye till the arch of eyebrow had been filled up with the eyeshadow. Further bringing in the glamour quotient was the red lipstick. And while the eyes and lips stood out, the rest of the face was kept simple.
Sleek Cat Lady
Don’t we all want to look like a cat lady at some level? Trust Jeremy Scott to take things to another level! Along with the clothes, the eyes made a statement too. A “v” shape was drawn on the outer edge of the eyelid and was joined at the end of the eyebrow. The inner corners of the eyes had been coloured and smudged. Completing the look was the dots in the middle that connected the “v” and inner corner. Lips were given a soft and blotted treatment whereas the face was kept dewy.
Smudged Eyeshadow
Designer Vivienne Hu’s show too played around with the eyes. The lower lash line was smudged with a dark eyeshadow and created a striking effect. The eyeshadows were also smudged towards the outer edge of the eye. For further definition, the under eye had been highlighted. The face and nose were contoured for a chiselled look whereas the lips were adorned with a hard to miss metallic shade.
