Little or Nothing – DIY nail story

With nail art trending in the fashion world, colours, techniques, formulas and more have been constantly changing. Various styles, tools and designs are experimented with. Minimal design nails are trending and here we have Swetha, a nail art enthusiast giving us a step by step on how to achieve the look and flaunt your nails.

Note: Applying basecoat before doing any nail art and layering with a top coat in the end is a must. You can opt for a matte or a glossy finish product based on the design you have done on your nails.

Step 1: Apply base coat and let it dry.

Step 2: Use a masking tape at the bottom corner of your nails and angle them at 45 degrees and stick them.

Step 3: Apply white or off white nail polish, let it dry and remove the masking tape.

Step 4: Use a black matte finish striping tape and stick on the desired area vertically or horizontally.

Step 5: Using a dotting tool, take a black nail polish and dot on the design as you prefer.

Step 6: Finish the look with a layer of topcoat.

This look has a set of both matte and glossy finished nails. You can opt for the same pastel colours or use your own palette matching your attire.

Step 1: Apply base coat and let I dry.

Step 2: Alternate your fingers as per your preference and colours them mate or glossy.

Step 3: Take a few holographic half cut rhinestones and round silver half cut spheres and using nail adhesive, stick them at the edge of preferred nails.

Step 4: Let it dry and then apply a layer of top coat.

Note: Ig you opt for gel based nail polish, remember to bake them under UV light or LED lamp.

Step 1: Apply base coat and let it dry.

Step 2: Coat your nails with a deep blue or ink blue nail polish.

Step 3: Use a geometrical stencil and place it on your nail as per the design preference.

Step 4: Take beauty sponge and add drops of gold nail polish to it and dab it within the stencil. Remove the stencil before it completely dries out and let the polish dry.

Step 5: Complete the look with a layer of top coat.

This can be achieved in 2 different ways:

Method 1

Step 1: Apply base coat and let it dry.

Step 2: Coat your nails with a white nail polish and let it dry.

Step 3: Use a masking tape to crate oval shaped border around you nails.

Step 4: Alternatively apply pastel colours, let them dry and remove the masking tape.

Step 5: Complete the look with a layer of top coat.

Method 2

Step 1: Apply base coat and let it dry.

Step 2: Alternatively apply pastel colours and let them dry.

Step 3: Take a thin brush and draw border around the nail with a white nail polish.

Step 4: Once it dries, complete the look with a layer of top coat.

Step 1: Apply base coat and let it dry.

Step 2: Once it dries, using a thin brush, draw the strokes as per the design or your preference with a black nail polish. Let it dry.

Step 3: Cover you nails with either a glossy top coat or a transparent shimmer nail polish to get the final look.
