Skin tanning is a common condition that most of the people face. Sun rays can have a major impact on your skin and leave a stubborn tan if you don’t take precautions to safeguard your body. Sometimes it’s just our lack of knowledge about the products to be used or how much SPF we need. Whatever the reason might be, not everyone likes a tan. Here are some DIY de-tan packs that work wonders on your skin. The best part? You can make them at the comfort of your home.
Milk and lemon/orange peel
Milk acts as a natural moisturising agent and the lactic acid in it exfoliates the dead skin. The orange and lemon peels contain vitamin C in them that help to lighten the skin and get rid of the tan.
Step 2: Mix them together to make a smooth paste. If you feel the consistency is runny, you can add more peel powder to it.
Step 3: Once the paste is ready, you can apply it on the tanned area of your body.
Step 4: Leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes and then rinse it off with water.
Tip: Use this pack 1-2 times a week.
Lemon, sugar and glycerine
This 2 in 1 face scrub and pack helps to get rid of tan as well as moisturises your skin because of glycerine. Lemon acts as a natural lightening agent and helps restore the tanned areas of the skin. Sugar on the other hand aids to eliminate dead skin from your face. Using this scrub regularly will keep your skin glowing and tan free.
Step 2: Take half a teaspoon of glycerine.
Step 3: Mix all the ingredients well in a clean bowl.
Step 4: Apply this pack to your face as a scrub. Massage it in upward circular motions.
Step 5: Continue massaging it for 3 to 4 minutes on your face and then rinse it off with water.
Tip: Repeat this process twice in a week.
Banana, milk and lemon
Banana is packed with vitamins and minerals that not only soothe your skin, but moisturises and leaves it glowing. Lemon is a natural lightener and it helps to bring back the natural tone of your skin. Milk moisturises your body too and helps to get rid of any dead cells.
Step 1: Take half a banana and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice and milk.
Step 2: Mash the banana completely so that there are no lumps.
Step 3: Mix milk and lemon juice to the mashed banana and make a smooth paste.
Step 4: Then apply this pack on the affected areas and leave it on for about 10 to 15 minutes.
Step 5: Wash it off with water.
Tip: Use this pack 2 times a week and you’ll start to notice results.

Besan or gram flour acts as an exfoliating agent and gets rid of any impurities from your skin. Filled with antioxidants, it also cleanses and rejuvenates your skin. Turmeric has antibacterial and antiseptic properties that keep away germs and also aids in lightening the skin. Olive oil moisturises your skin and keeps it glowing.
Step 1: In a bowl, take 2 to 3 tablespoons of gram flour or besan.
Step 2: Add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice and olive oil each.
Step 3: Then add a pinch of turmeric.

Step 5: Apply it on the tanned areas and let it dry completely.
Step 6: Rinse it off with lukewarm water.

Honey and curd
Plain yoghurt or curd consists of acids and enzymes that have been produced naturally and help in exfoliating, which in turn gets rid of the tan. It also cleanses your skin and reduces any redness due to the exposure of the sun. Honey nourishes your body and also works to reverse the skin damage caused by the harmful UV rays.
Step 2: Mix both the ingredients well until a smooth paste is obtained.
Step 3: Apply a thick layer of this pack on the affected areas.
