As per Pantone Institute – Jester Red, Aspen Gold and Toffee are a few of the trending summer shades. Here we have top 4 inspired looks from the above hues that you can try this season. Manisha Yadav, Director, Bella Madonna breaks down the looks of magical maroon and gold glamour for us.
Magical maroon
A hint of pink and purple, this hot colour brings out the wow in anyone. It suits various skin colours, but does the most justice to dusky women.
Prepping up
Step1: Cleanse your face with rose water as it is ideal for summer and will prepare your skin for the makeup.
Step 2: Use a moisturiser that contains, aloe vera, lavender oil and vitamin E, as it helps to replenish moisture and avoid skin dehydration.
Step 3: Apply a primer according to skin type.
Base/Skin
Step 1: Choose a foundation that’s close to your skin tone and another that’s a bit lighter. It’s a good idea to use two shades of foundation because the skin on your face isn’t all the same colour. Apply a thin layer of coat.
Step 2: Smear concealer on pigmented areas to give a flawless finish.
Step 3: Dab colour corrector to hide skin imperfections like redness, dark spots or general discolouration and pat with a beauty blender.
Step 4: Set with loose powder and contour your nose, cheekbones and jawline with the contouring powder.
Step 5: Opt for a natural tone (bronze, soft or coral) and apply a cream based or powder blush as it stays longer.
Step 6: Apply nice gold colour highlighter on the tip of your nose, chin and your cheekbones.
Lips
Tip: For dark tone lip colour, always go for a matte lipstick. Don’t forget to apply lip balm before that.
Step 1: Take red shaded lip liner and draw on the edges and fill it with the pencil.
Step 2: Smear a matte maroon or wine coloured lipstick.
Step 3: Set it with the setting spray all over your face and you are ready to go!
Eye makeup
Tip: Always go for a natural look or nude eye makeup with bright lipsticks like maroon or wine.
Step 1: Apply eyelid primer and then add base above the eyelid and below the eyelid.
Step 2: Do your brows with a darker tone of brown. Avoid using very dark brown or black and keep in mind not to overdo it.
Step 3: Take a light pink or coral colour eye shadow and apply it on crease up to the lid.
Step 4: Take a little black eyeshadow and just blend edges on your eyes outwards like a wing.
Step 5: Go for some glittery eyeshadows like gold and add slight pink glitter into it and apply on the outer eyelid.
Step 6: Apply thick black eyeliner with wings, take some nude coloured kajol and apply on your waterline and smudge your outer lid with black shadow.

Gold glamour
A touch of glitter and glam can take you a long way and this hue is a must try. Subtle yet elegant, shimmer falls into place on your eyes and lips to bring out the goddess look in you.
Prepping up
Step 1: Start by cleaning your face with rose water and apply moisturiser and primer according to your skin type.
Step 2: Apply some eye base on your eyelid and under the eyelid, place some loose powder beneath the eyelid and dust of the extras with a powder brush.
Base/Skin
Step 1: Apply concealer according to the skin tone focusing on the problematic area and dab it with a beauty blender.
Step 2: Apply colour corrector to get a flawless finish.
Step 3: Smear a thin layer of foundation (liquid for oily, creamy for dry skin) according to your skin type.
Step 4: Put on loose powder to set your foundation in place.
Step 5: Take bronzer or contour powder, contour your nose to make it look sharp and enhance your cheekbones.
Step 6: Dab some peach blush and apply some highlighter on your T-zone, forehead, chin and a little on your cheekbones as well.
Lips
Tips: Always go for nude lips with smokey eyes as it makes your makeup look natural.
Step: Recommend using a nude colour lip liner to outline your lips. Complete the look by applying nude lipstick.
Note: If you have thin lips, you can always add a gloss to it or dab little highlighter on your lips.
Eye makeup
Tips: Eye makeup is the best way to judge your overall makeup, so start with your brows followed by the rest.
Step 1: Apply a base to your eyelids, take a natural brown colour and do your brows with an angular brush.
Step 2: Take light brown eyeshadow and apply it starting from the crease up to the lid.
Step 3: Take a little orange tone, blend the lid area to create a crease and keep the outer corner soft with some light hues.
Step 4: Opt for a dark brown shade and blend at the edges of your eyelid.
Step 5: Select a golden shimmer eye shadow and apply it on the outer lid of your eyes.
Step 6: Apply a black liner above the waterline of your eye by stretching it little outwards from the outer lid of your eyes. It will make them look bigger with a winged liner.
Step 7: To give a smokey effect, apply kajol at edges of your eyes and smudge it with a brush.
Step 8: Curl your lashes with the lash curler and apply some mascara to enhance your lashes or opt for false lashes.

Sassy Cherry Red
The classic colour of beauty and hotness that is every preferred by many to look their best.
Step 1: Start with moisturising your skin with a strobe cream and use a cream highlighter under the base.
Step 2: Fairly brush your brows with a brow gel and frame them.
Step 3: Use a liquid concealer on the lid and blend it out.
Step 4: Select a dark brown matte eye shadow for the outer crease and follow it up to the crease line and blend it well.
Step 5: Use a cranberry shade with a sparkly texture shadow and use a flat eyeshadow brush to apply it on the lid.
Step 6: Blend the cranberry with the dark brown to create a beautiful berry transition.
Step 7: Take a pencil brush and accentuate the crease line with a black shadow to give depth and use the same brush to create a smudged line.
Step 8: Curl the lashes and apply a thick coat of mascara and use lashes if needed.
Step 9: Use a concealer 1 or 2 shades darker than your natural tone and conceal areas around eyes, mouth and pigmentation.
Step 10: Use a sheer liquid foundation to maintain the glowy skin and blend it all over using a stippling brush.
Step 11: Mattify the skin with powder.
Step 12: Choose a mauve/ berry toned blush and use it to contour your cheeks.
Step 13: Use a cherry lip liner and draw your lips completely.
Step 14: Choose a pigmented sparkly deep cherry red lipstick and apply a generous coat over the lips.

Bold Brown
Start your makeup routine with CTM – cleanse the skin, tone the skin and moisturise using water-based light cream.
Step 1: Use a primer that can cover your pores for a flawless look.
Step 2: Brush the brows with a brow definer.
Step 3: Use a brown gel eye colour halfway up your lid and immediately blend it out seamlessly till the crease line. Use a dark brown pigmented sparkly shadow on the lid and opt for a dark black matte eyeshadow on the outer crease and outer lid.
Step 4: Use a dark black Kajal and create a smudged fade look on the liner.
Step 5: Select a pair of thick false lashes and use mascara to lift the lashes
Step 6: Opt for a dark brown pencil under the lower crease line and blend it well using a black shadow.
Step 7: Apply a black kajal on the lower waterline and create a deep smokey look.
