Cleaning acid is commonly found in every household. These are powerful enough to clean even the toughest stains around the home with much ease. However, we have somehow restricted their use to bathrooms only, though, they can be used for a lot of tough stains around the house that usually give you nightmares because of their complexity.
Stains on window glasses, steel equipment, window panes, etc. either take a lot of your time or you need to ask for a professional help. But, if only you knew how to use cleaning acid for these places this nightmarish chore will become a piece of cake for you. Why not make one at home with the things that are easily available? Here’s how.
Recipe: Homemade cleaner acid
To make an effective, all-purpose cleaning acid at home, you’ll need a few ingredients: two tbsp liquid soap, one tsp baking soda or washing soda, one tsp citric acid, a litre water to fill a spray bottle and half a cup distilled white vinegar.
Method
- Add soda in the spray bottle and fill it till halfway with tap water.
- Close the bottle and shake the mixture well until the soda dissolves in water completely.
- Add soap to the solution and gently swirl it.
- In another container, put citric acid and hot tap water and mix well.
- Transfer this acid solution into a spray bottle.
- Once the solution is settled, fill the bottle completely with cold tap water.
This solution can be used as a spray cleaning acid to remove stains from tiles, floor, table tops, etc. Apart from this, the cleaning citric acid can come handy in removing dirt, stains, insects, and bacteria from every nook and corner of your home in several ways.

- This cleaning acid spray can remove adhesive and stains from stainless steel.
It can be used for killing bacteria and removing grease and stains from kitchen tops, marble floorings, countertops, tables and even tiles. This will disinfect them and will also make them clean and shiny.
- If you want to descale and disinfect your washing machine, then your home cleaning acid can be of great use. Add two tablespoons of washing acid in an empty washing machine and then add hot water. Run the mixture through the longest cycle and then drain. Your washing machine will be disinfected in minutes.
- Use home cleaning acid to descale tap and shower doors. Just add two tablespoons of cleaning acid to one litre of warm water. Let the mixture dissolve completely and then spray it on the areas in the bathroom that you want to descale. Let it sit for a minute and then wipe them clean.
- Two litres of warm water, when mixed with two tablespoons of cleaning acid, can make an excellent cleaning spray for your windows and window panes.
- Sprinkle the home cleaning acid on the sides of your toilet commode and leave it there overnight. Next morning, brush the sides using toilet cleaning brush and then flush it. Your bathroom will be clean and sparkling.
- Wine stains are hard to remove unless you try removing them using cleaning acid. Mix one part of cleaning acid with two parts of baking soda. Sprinkle the solution over the wine stains; mist with water if acid is too strong. Let it sit for a few minutes and then scrub it away for a clean surface.
