Exploring Regional Foods and Their Local Specialties

It is said that in India, every 200km one can find a variety in terms of dialects, food habits, local specialities etc. These diversities are broadly classified into different states and their diverse cultures.

If you travel to a different state, you will often find their local special food items. But how and why do these dishes become particular to that particular state and not any other? The logic is simple, special dishes of different states are defined by the ingredients locally available in that particular region.

When these ingredients are available in abundance in that state, naturally they will be used widely and become popular locally and thereby be defined as their local speciality. Whether you travel to a different state or not, we have compiled some delectable signature dishes of different states, prepared using ingredients that are locally found in that region.
