Sunscreens that work wonders on the Indian Skin

It is a given, there is simply no running away from sunscreens if you want to protect your skin from sun damage. Having said that, choosing one has always been a challenge for many. Various questions arise such as which SPF should be used, ingredients to look out for, etc.  To make your selection a tad bit easier, we have compiled a list of sunscreens that work best for the Indian skin.

Good to know

Most of us believe that higher the SPF, better the protection. But this is not true. For instance, SPF50+ offers only marginally better protection from Ultra Violet B (UVB) radiation than SPF30+. Also, SPF50+ blocks 98% of UVB radiation while SPF30+ blocks 96.7%.

Thus, even higher SPF sunscreens need to be re-applied every 2 hours. Other sun protection measures like wearing hats, full covering clothes, sunglasses, staying in the shade; all should be followed despite applying high SPF sunscreens.

Here is a list of some of the effective sunscreens for Indian skin.
