While our skin needs protection all through the year, it needs more care during the summer season. Reason being, the scorching heat and the consequences that follow! As the summer sun rays are too hot, they rob you of your natural glow and can start showing signs of ageing and wrinkles. Men too need to pay heed.
Here are some tips for men to save your skin this summer…

Cleanse
Make sure you cleanse your face off the dust, dirt and sweat. Repeating this step at least twice a day is important. This will help prevent clogging of your pores thus stop breakouts.
Exfoliate
The top layers of our skin are made up of dead skin cells as our skin microscopically sheds/peels every day. This, unfortunately, is not visible to the naked eye. Exfoliating with a scrub once weekly helps get rid of the dead skin build up. This, in turn, enables creams and other topical applications penetrate and work better.
Sun protection
Application of a sunscreen with an SPF of minimum 30 is recommended irrespective of you being indoors or outdoors. Make sure you pick a sunscreen that suits your skin type, and also that it has both UVA and UVB protection.
Stay hydrated
The summer heat can cause dehydration, which in turn can result in heat cramps or strokes. Thus, a minimum of 3 litres of water intake a day is imperative. Do not forget to use a moisturiser suitable for your skin type to prevent your skin from overproducing natural oils.
Eat healthily
Having a healthy lifestyle, in general, is imperative for your hair and skin to be able to reflect it! Consumption of green leafy vegetables, fresh fruits, nuts, etc. will help you achieve the skin health and texture you desire.
