We can’t seem to get enough of Kim Kardashian West’s wet beauty look. Case in point, the Met Gala where she literally appeared like a goddess appearing out of the ocean. But that’s not the only place where the global icon sported this attractive avatar. She flaunted it on her Instagram, Vogue cover shoot and a lot more. If you too want to emulate this celeb look, here are some tips for the same…

Base makeup

Kim Kardashian’s skin always looks dewy and fresh like it’s glowing from within. And going by her penchant for extreme facials as well as a clean diet, we know that she takes good care of it too. First and foremost, it’s important that you nourish yourself from within. As for that flawless look when it comes to makeup, opt for a full coverage foundation for that special occasion. Go for a full coverage concealer too where required. To get that dewy touch (and the fake wet look), apply a highlighter under the eyes, bridge of the nose, between the brows, cupid’s bow and chin. This enables the light to focus on these areas, making the features stand out in the process.

Contour and bronzer

A huge fan of contouring, Kim’s face always appears chiselled. You can take a cue from her and contour the cheekbones, jawline and nose. To look like a bronze goddess, opt for a bronzer on the cheeks, forehead and jawline to bring definition to the face.

If we take inspiration from her Met Gala look, Kim’s blush was more towards the brownish coral warm-hued side and was blended so well with the bronzer that it almost looks like she did not apply any. But on closer inspection, you would find that it was seamlessly enhanced on the apples of her cheeks for a stunning effect. Adopt this trick too and you will see the difference.

During the red carpet event, the diva went for a beaming golden highlight that was applied to her cheekbones, cupid’s bow, forehead, bridge of the nose and chin. The glow was also extended on her arms and body which drew all the attention to her features and made her look alluring.

Eye makeup

Of course, Kim’s look is incomplete without using products from her KKW beauty line. During the Met Gala, her eyes had the whole bronzy tone smokey look that went with her dress and makeup. Also, a hint of glistening silver liquid eyeshadow was seen at the centre of her lids. The reality star’s upper and lower lashes were loaded with mascara. To add more drama, she had dramatic false lashes. Her eyebrows were bold and clean with highlighted browbone that framed her face beautifully. So, load on the mascara and add a touch of silver for that water drop effect.

While Kim Kardashian likes to go heavy on the eyes, she usually prefers nudes when it comes to her lip colour. You can line your lips with a nude liner and fill it in with a nude lipstick. To complete the monochromatic look and bring in that wet appearance factor, apply nude gloss as the final step.

How you style your hair makes a huge difference in the wet look. Especially for the Met Gala, Kim’s parted shiny beachy curls grabbed all the attention. Believe it or not, it’s easy to recreate the hairstyle. Chris Appleton styled her stresses and started with applying an anti-humidity product on her damp her. He put this in sections so that each strand was covered with the product evenly. Once this was done, he took another gloss product to add extra shine to her hair and a flexible hairspray to create waves. For the final touch, he created a slightly off-centre part and pushed her hair forward and backwards in an S shape, which automatically created waves.

Worry not if you don’t have the access to these products. You can alternatively use an iron or a curler to create waves on your hair. Then add some wet gel to make your hair look glossy and give it a wet look. Seal the deal with a hairspray and you’re great to go!

Now that we’ve decoded her look, you can easily recreate it and flaunt your creativity!
