But along with having access to the world’s best when it comes to beauty experts and cosmetic giants, the blue bloods also follow a certain regime that has been passed on by previous generations. Mascara has always been in high demand when it comes to makeup and for a good reason too! In many of her interviews, the effervescent Princess Diana had mentioned that she never left home without a dash of mascara on her lashes. Duchess Kate Middleton also admitted that long luxurious lashes have always been part of the Royal family’s beauty regime.

What’s fascinating is that before Meghan Markle married into royalty, she too had stated her love for this makeup item. In a 2014 interview with Allure magazine, the beauty revealed that she used Diorshow Iconic and Revitalash mascara on her eyelashes. She further added that an eyelash curler is the best bet if you don’t have a good hand with makeup.

Staying away from the sun

Queen Elizabeth maybe 93 years old but she has the skin of a much younger woman. According to Glamour magazine, this is so as she strictly avoiding direct sun on her face.

When the highness is abroad, she avoids the sun directly on her face by wearing a hat or a parasol. Everyone knows what adverse effects sun can have and the Queen’s youthful glow as well radiant skin is proof of how much the right coverage can help.

Living a balanced life

Turns out living a balanced life is another key to having youthful and radiant skin. Stuart Miles, an anti-ageing leading expert in the UK has said that another reason why Queen Elizabeth looks way younger and energetic than her 93-year-old self is that she does not do excess of anything. The royalty lives a clean life and does not eat, drink or sleep more than required. This is quite a feat considering the surroundings the Queen lives in.

The other Royal ladies of the household also swear by this rule. Clean healthy living has been an integral part of the household for years.

Duchess Meghan Markle told the website Beauty Banter that it is important to find a good treatment to avoid dry and chapped lips. It is also vital to protect lips from the sun rays. A good balm with some SPF in it can go a long way. The Duchess swore by Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment with SPF15 and revealed that women from the Royal household used it for buttery soft lips.

Don’t cover your best features

The women of the British Royal family are some of the best looking in the world. According to the website Birchbox, one of the reasons why they appear the way they do in public is because they do not slather unnecessary makeup.

Duchess Meghan Markle also told Birchbox that she doesn’t believe in applying foundation unnecessarily. The beauty rather applies it sparingly, leaving her freckles as they are. She insists that leaving the best assets of the face as it enhances one’s natural beauty.

Zara Tindall, the eldest granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth wore minimal makeup and nude lip colour for a family wedding. Too much makeup and even coloured nail polish are frowned upon in the Royal family.

Daniel Martin, the makeup artist who worked on the Duchess for her wedding, told Glamour magazine that she insisted on keeping her skin as real and natural as possible.
