Wish to flaunt a makeup look that suits the season and the current trend? Your search has found some answers. Below is a list of some of the popular styles that did the rounds amongst the celebrities. Take a leaf out of their page and sport it yourself!

Neutral is gorgeous

If you are the sorts who likes to play it safe, then we suggest that you go for natural-looking makeup with mostly neutral colours. Now, remember, you must opt for a product that suits your skin tone, so we would advise to take some trials beforehand.

To get the look:

  • Step 1: Start with a makeup setting spray on a well cleansed and gently exfoliated skin. This will help the rest of the makeup stay put for long. Optionally, you may also choose to apply a hydrating serum and layer a moisturising lotion on the skin.
  • Step 2: For a dewy glowing natural look, use a moisturising foundation. Based on the kind of coverage required, you can layer it up.
  • Step 3: Now that your face is a well-nourished flawless canvas, it’s time to bring in that much-craved sheen to the skin. Take a few drops of highlighting skin enhancer in your fingertips and massage it onto your skin. Concentrate more on the nose tip, cupid’s bow and cheekbones.
  • Step 4: Take a gold/copper toned eyeshadow on the lid and crease of the eyes.
  • Step 5: Finish with kohl liner, eyeliner and coats of mascara.

Lilac smokey eyes with a touch of gold-tone

While matching accessories with clothes has always been a popular trend, extending the same aesthetic towards makeup is catching momentum too.

For instance, if you are wearing green in your attire, bring the same shade in our eyeliner/eyeshadow. With red, pink, coral, orange in your dress, use the same coloured lipstick. Similarly, a blue attire will look perfect with blue eyeshadow or blue kohl in the waterline.

To get the look:

  • Step 1: Start on a deep cleansed and well-moisturised skin.
  • Step 2: Follow with a primer as it will hold the makeup for a very long time.
  • Step 3: Use a full coverage foundation to hide all skin imperfections. Blend well and set with setting powder.
  • Step 4: Apply shimmery pearly pink blush and blend well across our cheeks.
  • Step 5: Use a pink lip gloss for a fully plumped appearance of the lips.
  • Step 6: Apply winged eyeliner using bottle green eye pencil. The wing is so pointy, sharp and elongated that reaches towards the end of the eyebrow.

Glowing Highlighted Skin

The glow in the skin is the secret that makes everything look balanced and beautiful. When it comes to makeup, this can be achieved with creamy products. Layer your skin with moisturisers, highlighters, blushes, and bronzers to get an amazing glow.

To get this look:

  • Step 1: Moisturise with a skin butter that sinks deep inside and maintains suppleness all over.
  • Step 2: Apply BB Cream and blend where skin needs coverage.
  • Step 3: Go for a highlighter as it gives an amazing dimension to the high points in the face.
  • Step 4: Pick a mild blush that goes well alongside the shimmery highlighter.
  • Step 5: Follow it up with a neutral eye shadow and lipstick to add more glow to the look.
  • Step 6: Apply eyeliner with a neat long precisely curved and pointed tail. Use a flex tip eyeliner for easy application.

Brown lips

Brown being a versatile shade with so many versions, is doing the rounds in the beauty world. The trick is to keep the rest of the makeup simple as it allows to keep the focus on the hue. For this fall season, you can go for milky brown or deep brown with wine undertones.

To get this look:

  • Step 1: Apply a matte finish foundation on a well-primed skin to achieve a flawless effect.
  • Step 2: Use a concealer wherever needed to hide dark circles, acne spots and uneven skin tone.
  • Step 3: Follow it with a base colour eyeshadow, a shimmery highlighter and blend well until the brow bone.
  • Step 4: Apply eyeliner, kohl and few coats of mascara to make sure your eyes stand out beautifully.
  • Step 5: Groom your eyebrows using a brown powder and a brush.
  • Step 6: For the lips, choose the deep hues of brown such as rich cocoa.

Orange lips and orange cheeks

Orange is a shade that most of us avoid as it is assumed to be hard to pull off. But a sheer wash of this hue on lips and cheeks brings more life to your overall makeup. The shade is so versatile that when blended into the skin, it minimises the appearance of imperfections. It can be used for everyday makeup too. Take inspiration from the look sported by Zoey Dutch at the premiere of The Politician.

To get this look:

  • Step 1: Begin with a heavy coverage foundation for a clean canvas.
  • Step 2: Smear a creamy matte orange lipstick in multiple swipes until the true orange comes up on the lips. If needed, apply lip liner to prevent lipstick from feathering/bleeding.
  • Step 3: For the eyes, use copper tone or gold tone eyeshadow that makes your eye makeup very noticeable and highlights the brow bone.
  • Step 4: Apply kohl and mascara to finish the eye makeup.
  • Step 5: Dust shimmery highlighter on your facial focus points, especially on the cupid’s bow area to make your lips look full.
  • Step 6: Apply highlighter and orange blush on the cheekbone rather than on the apples of the cheek. This way, it looks natural.

Velvet Red Lips

Red lips have always been a popular trend. Formal, casual, traditional or just for fun or entertainment; red fits the bill everywhere. And who better to take to follow for this than Sonam Kapoor! To pull off this red lip look, concentrate on how you apply the hue on your lips.

To get this look:

  • Step 1: Make sure your lips are exfoliated and hydrated with one of the best lip balms.
  • Step 2: Dab foundation to even out the lips.
  • Step 3: Use a red lip liner to define the shape of your lips and prevent the lipstick from bleeding and flaking.
  • Step 4: Fill in the lines with a red lip colour.
  • Step 5: Layer the lip colour until you arrive at the desired intensity of the hue.
  • Step 6: If needed, blot using a blotting paper to avoid clumping of the product.
  • Step 7: Keep the rest of the makeup bare minimum and highlight all facial features that need to grab attention of your makeup.

Bright Coral – creamy matte coral lips and pointed tail coral eyes

Coral is a refreshing shade and brightens the entire face makeup, it is a pleasant change from the usual trusted red. Shakira shows how to pull off a bright pop of colour on your lids without much noise.

To get this look:

  • Step 1: On a clean fresh face, apply concealer wherever required.
  • Step 2: Dot, pat, spread and blend our everyday foundation for flawless-looking skin.
  • Step 3: Dust and swipe of a light blush to give a fresh flush to the cheeks.
  • Step 4: For the eyes, pick a bright coral eyeshadow and dab on eyes for a single eye colour makeup.
  • Step 5: Near the rear end of the eyes, make a slightly curvy tail using the eyeshadow. Do not smudge or spread as we need the tail end created to be well noticed.
  • Step 6: Apply a thin streak of eyeliner with a tail at the end. This eyeliner tail should not exceed the tail created using the coral eyeshadow.
  • Step 7: Prepare your lips with a lip balm and also a layer of foundation to hide discolouration of lips.
  • Step 8: Apply a creamy matte lip shade in the same colour as that of the eyeshadow.
  • Step 9: Finish with a coat of mascara that will make the lashes stand independent of each other.
