Remakes of classics are not an entirely new game in Hollywood. This time around, we have our all-time favourite action-comedy Charlie’s Angels’ third part in the theatres. Written and directed by Elizabeth Banks, the new delight continues the story of Charlie’s Angels (2000) and Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle (2003). While the movie is exciting, so was its LA premiere where the beauties slayed the red carpet.

Here we share the step by step breakdown of some of the best makeup looks…

Ella Balinska Golden Shimmer-Smokey Look

Ella Balinska’s red carpet look was all about princess glory. Her flowy floor-length cream gown was a custom-made Vera Wang number. It highlighted her curves with no flaws. She did a perfectly chiselled look with ample amount of contouring and highlighting. Her eyes were basic smokey with winged liner. To complement the dress and makeup, the beauty’s hair was gathered in a messy bun with a few face-framing loose strands.

Steps to recreate this look:

  1. Start with a moisturiser that suits your skin type.
  2. Fill in the eyebrows with an eyebrow filler and set it with a brow mascara. The finish should be in-between; neither too strong nor completely natural.
  3. Prime eyelids and apply a bone coloured eyeshadow or loose powder to set the primer.
  4. Take a light brown matte eyeshadow and define the crease with it by blending slightly above and below the crease.
  5. Use brown kohl on the lid as a base and blend it with a synthetic eye brush. Now take a deep brown-black shadow and do the outer V blending with it. Apply a golden eye shadow on the inner third of the lid. Blend it with the crease so that there are no harsh edges visible.
  6. Tightline the upper lashline with intense black kohl. Smudge the lower waterline kajal with the matte brown shade used before. Draw an elongated winged liner with black gel liner.
  7. Apply mascara and volumizing false lashes.
  8. Highlight the brow bone with pale gold coloured eyeshadow and inner corner of the eye with a gold shimmer highlighter.
  9. If required, correct undereye with a peach corrector.
  10. Smear the foundation using a stippling brush or beauty blender. Conceal the under eyes if needed.
  11. Apply highlighting concealer to the high points of face and contour on required places.
  12. Set the contour and highlight with translucent powder or contour powder. Bake the under eyes with banana powder.
  13. Finish off with a cool-toned nude lip colour.

Naomi Scott’s Artistic Smokey Look

In the premiere, Naomi Scott was seen in a gorgeous mid-length lacy black dress from Givenchy. Based on minimalistic appeal, the main attraction of her look was natural tans and artistic smokey eyes. Apart from the eyes, the beautiful and flawless contouring job gave her a nice chiselled look.

Steps to recreate this look:

  1. On a cleansed and moisturised skin, first apply cream contour below the cheekbone, sides of forehead, jawline and neck. Use highlighter on cheeks, forehead, nose and chin. Blend them with a damp beauty blender.
  2. Now apply foundation in a sheer layer.
  3. Set the foundation with powder contour and highlighter of matte finish.
  4. Take a black-brown cream eyeshadow base and apply one the lid. Take a synthetic brush to blend over the eyelid and elongate it from the outer V for a dramatic finish.
  5. Blend the crease with the same colour, go over the crease with this shade for a dramatic look. Now, set the cream shadow with cool brown satin finish eyeshadow. Bring the same shadow below the lower waterline for a smudged look.
  6. Finish with a nude lip colour 2-3 tones lighter than the lip tone and volumising mascara.

Kristen Stewart’s Signature Smokey Look

Kristen Stewart’s Germanier couture in the red carpet was focused on shimmers. She needed no other accessories to stand out in the crowd. The star’s makeup, as usual, brought out the best of her eyes while the lips were kept neutral. Her skin looked flawless with a little peach blush and the strobe effects.

Steps to recreate this look:

  1. Start with applying moisturiser on freshly cleansed skin.
  2. Fill in the eyebrows with an eyebrow filler and set it with a brow mascara. The finish should be strong because we are creating an intense smokey eye look.
  3. Prime eyelids and apply a bone coloured eyeshadow or loose powder to set the primer.
  4. Take a light brown matte eyeshadow and define the crease with it by blending slightly above and below the crease.
  5. Apply black kohl on the lid as a base and blend it with a synthetic eye brush. Take the same brown shadow and set the kajal. Blend it with the crease so that there are no harsh edges visible. Now, use a bronze eyeshadow and highlight the inner corner and inner third of the lid with it. Blend all the shadows.
  6. Tightline the upper and lower lashline with intense black kohl. Smudge the lower waterline kajal with the matte brown shade used before.
  7. Apply mascara. You can also use volumising false lashes but Kristen did not apply falsies.
  8. Highlight the brow bone with shimmer bone coloured eyeshadow.
  9. Now correct undereye if required with a peach corrector.
  10. Dab foundation using a stippling brush or beauty blender. Conceal under eyes if needed.
  11. Use a highlighting concealer to the high points of the face. Set the face with translucent powder.
  12. Apply a peach blush on the apples of the cheeks and strobe cream for a natural highlighted finish.
  13. Finish off with a peach-toned nude lip colour.

Elizabeth Banks’s Minimalistic Makeup

Elizabeth Banks stole the show with her David Koma dress and minimalistic makeup. Keeping up with the silver shimmer tones of her dress, she opted for a simple appearance with silver sheen. The glass-skin glow defined her red carpet makeup.

Steps to recreate this look:

  1. Cleanse the skin; moisturise the face and neck. Apply face primer.
  2. Start by applying foundation that matches your skin tone exactly. Do a sheer layer and add in more if needed. Mix a little strobe cream with foundation for an all-over glow.
  3. Conceal under eyes and any pigmentation you want to hide.
  4. Contour the face with shimmer bronzer and set everything with a setting spray.
  5. Fill in the brows.
  6. Apply kohl on the upper lid in a thin line and smudge it with an angular brush or smudger to get blended out smokey look to the lids. Bring the smudged kohl below the lower waterline. Use a cool-toned brown eyeshadow on the smudged kohl for a long-lasting finish. Use the same eyeshadow as crease blending shade
  7. Now line the upper lid with black liner. Apply mascara generously.
  8. Finish it off with a glossy nude lipstick.
