Infused oil recipes for your hair

Problem-free, shiny and strong hair is everyone’s hair goal, be it a pixie cut babe or a Rapunzel hair lover. Urbanisation and our worry-filled busy schedule often take a toll on our hair. Stress, lack of sleep, improper diet and other ailments affect our overall health and thus, our hair. Making healthy lifestyle choices and following a healthy hair routine is most important to get your tresses back to its old glory. Oiling your hair at regular intervals is the best way to stimulate your hair follicles and thus encourage hair growth. Natural hair oils like Parachute Advanced Coconut Hair Oil provide nourishment to your dry and damaged hair strands, prevent split ends and ease frizz. Throw in some hair-enhancing herbs and oils and see how it becomes the elixir of lively hair!

Curry Leaf & Amla for Luscious Hair

If your hair lacks in strength and shine, it’s high time to introduce curry leaves and amla to your hair care routine. Curry leaf extract not only strengthens the hair, but it also rejuvenates hair and cures damages caused by sun exposure and chemical treatments. Packed with vitamin C, amla adds shine to the hair, treats discolouration and boosts hair growth.

Take a cup of Parachute Advanced Coconut Hair Oil in a vessel. Add a handful of fresh curry leaves and one fresh amla or Indian gooseberry chopped. You may add sun-dried amla pieces if you don’t have fresh fruit. Boil the oil until it becomes dark. Let the oil rest for 6-7 hours and then strain it. Keep it in an air-tight glass or plastic bottle and massage your hair 2-3 times a week. Leave it in your hair for 1-2 hours and wash off with a mild hair wash.

Fenugreek & Lemon Oil for Dandruff-Free Hair

Both fenugreek and onion oil are packed with natural antimicrobials. They banish the fungal outgrowth from the scalp and soothe inflamed scalp tissues. Fenugreek also induces hair growth while lemon essential oil treats foul odour of the scalp.

Take 50ml Parachute Advanced Coconut Hair Oil in an air-tight glass container. A dark container is best to keep the potency intact. Add 2 tablespoons of methi seeds or fenugreek and 4-6 drops of lemon essential oil. Leave this for 2-3 weeks. The oil will turn yellowish as nutrients in methi seeds will start to get infused. Give the bottle a good shake before each use. Massage your scalp and hair with this for 10-15 minutes. Let the hair soak the oil overnight and cleanse off with a good hair wash the next day. Dandruff and itchiness will go away in no time.

Onion-Aloe Oil for Falling Hair

According to scientific studies, dietary sulphur-rich onion helps in stimulating the hair roots and boosts hair growth. Aloe vera, on the other hand, supplies the much-needed nutrition and antioxidant benefits to the scalp. If you are suffering from hair-thinning, onion infused hair oils are a must for you.

Crush one standard size onion and make a paste. The more purple the onion is, the more will be its effectiveness. Mix it with 50ml of pure coconut oil. Add 2-3 tablespoon aloe vera juice freshly extracted from the aloe plant and shake this mixture until the aloe vera blends with the oil. Once the oil turns translucent, it’s ready for use. Keep it in a cool, dry place like a refrigerator or the onion or aloe vera will lose their effectiveness. Dip a cotton ball in this oil and apply on the scalp by sectioning out your hair. Instead of vigorous massaging, give your scalp a relaxing massage for 2-3 minutes with light hands. Let the nutrients soak into the scalp for 1-2 hours and then wash off with a gentle shampoo.

Vitamin E & Castor Oil for Split-end Free hair

Lack of nourishment causes the degradation of hair’s outermost layer, cuticle. Damaged cuticle easily breaks away from the hair strand and that’s how we get split ends. Castor oil replenishes the moisture level of the hair and supplies the scalp with ricinoleic acid to fight against fungal inflammation. Vitamin E oil repairs hair follicles and prevents split ends and baldness.

Take 2 parts of coconut oil in a container and add 1 part of castor oil to it. Shake well until the oils blend entirely and store it in a bottle. Don’t keep the bottle in a moisture-ridden area like your shower or the oil will get contaminated with microbes. Take out the required oil from the bottle just before application and add the oil from one Vitamin E capsule. Mix well and massage your scalp and hair with it. Coat each hair strand with this oil to reap the maximum benefit. Let the hair soak the oil overnight and wash it off the next morning. Use 2 drops of coconut oil in place of silicone serums to lock the moisture in your hair.

Turmeric & Hibiscus Infused Oil for Premature Greying

Enriched with amino acids, hydroxyl acids, Vitamins A and C, hibiscus is a magic plant for hair. It not only promotes hair growth and cures dryness; it is also associated with preventing premature greying. Turmeric is touted as a natural anti-bacterial agent. It relieves the scalp from itchiness and dandruff. It also acts as a natural hair tinting ingredient while its antioxidants help in preventing premature greying.

Crush 2-3 pods of raw turmeric and add it to a cup of Parachute Advanced Coconut Hair Oil. Now, crush 1-2 buds of hibiscus flower and a few fresh leaves of hibiscus. Add these to the coconut oil concoction. Boil the oil mixture until the hibiscus leaves and turmeric extract turn the oil dark. Cool the oil and pour it in a dark glass or plastic bottle. Take out the required oil before each use and warm it in a double boiler or a microwave. Do a relaxing deep conditioning hot oil treatment with it once a week. Wash it off after 2-3 hours.
