Summers are here and one of the most common problems we face during this time is sweat. The worst part is the pit stains left behind in our clothes because of excessive sweat. It has definitely angered every one of us at least once in a lifetime when a sweat stain ruined the beauty of our favourite white shirt or dress. So, how to avoid sweat stains? If not, how do we clean them?
Here we suggest eight different ways to avoid and clean sweat stains.
Check them out below:
Put an extra layer
The best way to avoid sweat stains is to keep something between the armpits and the cloth. You can either wear an undershirt or opt for armpit pads. The latter has been specifically designed to soak body perspiration.
Grooming is a necessity
Try to trim your underarm hair from time to time. Excess pit hair traps excess moisture, hence paving the way for too much sweat. Keeping the underarms tidy can help prevent pit stains and also reduce body odor.
Be vigilant with deodorants
While deodorants are used to feel and smell fresh, they may also pave the way for sweat stains at times. So, instead of applying multiple layers, apply a single layer and wear your attire only after it dries out completely.
Say no to antiperspirants
It may sound shocking but antiperspirants often lead to pit stains. So, you should think twice before buying them despite the fact that they help curb sweating. You can also opt for aluminium-free antiperspirants for a change.
Immediate wash
The best way to avoid pit stains is to wash the cloth immediately. That is because there are more chances of discoloration if you keep it without washing for a long time.
Say no to bleach
As strange as it sounds, bleach will only make your stain look worse. So, it’s better you skip this process.
Aspirin to the rescue
This is one of the best ways to clean sweat stains. Simply crush some aspirin and mix them with water. Apply this paste to the stain and let it sit for 15 minutes. Wash it later to say goodbye to the stain forever.
The magic of dish soap
You can try another alternative that involves the mixing of dish soap with hydrogen peroxide. Soak the stained cloth in the mixture for an hour and voila! The arrogant mark is gone.
