Skincare tips for spring break

Spring is in. As the cold climate fades into a warmer one, it’s time for a re-haul. While you take in the glorious change in the weather of blooming flowers and chirping birds, it’s time to take a hard look at your beauty products too. Now is when you need to keep aside the heavier winter products. What worked during winters may not necessarily work during spring. But you don’t need to worry about the dos and don’ts.

We have rounded up 6 skincare tips to prep your skin for the seasonal change and add a spring to your step, but of course!

Bring on the sunscreen

Whatever the weather, sunscreen is super essential. We cannot over-emphasize the importance of this. Even when the weather is cool, the sun is always around, and so are the rays. These are harsh on the skin. That’s why a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher works best. Choose a lightweight sunscreen that won’t weigh down your skin.

BB tip: Reapply sunscreen every two hours as it can wear off, especially if you’re swimming or sweat a lot.

Time to exfoliate

Exfoliation is the trick to perfect spring skin. It helps buffer away dead cells and clean the clogged pores of impurities and sebum. Use a gentle exfoliator or go natural with ground sugar, ground coffee, or oats. Scrub gently and never be aggressive with the skin. You can exfoliate once in 10 days for the best results.

BB tip: Exfoliate for about 30 seconds and rinse with lukewarm water, not hot.

Use a moisturizer

As the weather gets warmer, the skin retains more moisture. So swap your heavy moisturizers for lighter ones. Opt for water-based moisturizers or gel-based ones, as these will keep your skin hydrated without making it look greasy or clogging your pores.

BB tip: Apply moisturizer on moist skin, preferably after a shower, which helps in better absorption.

Drink up

Water is highly essential to keep your skin hydrated and moisturized. Make sure you drink at least 7 to 8 glasses of water a day. If you’re on the go, carry a bottle with you and sip regularly. You can also use Rose Water to clean and soothe your skin. You can pamper your skin with natural foods like milk, honey, and curd.

BB tip: You can also add a wedge of lime or mint leaves for a burst of freshness.

Don’t forget the lips

Your lips are probably still facing the onslaught of winters. Soothe your dry, chapped lips with a moisturizing lip balm. This will not only mend your lips but keep them soft and supple. Don’t forget to choose an SPF-infused lip balm.

BB tip:: For extra nourishment, rub a small amount of Coconut Oil on your lips before applying the lip balm.

Eat healthy

Say goodbye to junk and load your plate with fruits and veggies. These foods are packed with vitamins and nutrients that will nourish the skin. Lettuce, carrots, apples, watermelons, and citrus fruits are especially beneficial for the skin.

BB tip: Try and incorporate a 30-minute exercise routine. Exercising increases blood flow, thus giving you happy, radiant skin.

Come on then, give your winter skin a jolt of freshness with these spring goodies. It’s simple, easy, and will do a lot of good for your skin. Enjoy spring to the fullest. Soak in the sun, plan those trips, take it easy, and take care of your skin. It will reward you by looking as gorgeous as ever!
