It normally is not a matter of concern for a fervent traveller, but if you are into fitness and are a dedicated disciple of a healthy lifestyle, then it can be a challenge.

Don’t skip your breakfast: Okay, this tip has been beaten to death…but it still holds true. For all those who are uninitiated to the ‘wow factor’ of breakfast, here it is. A sumptuous naashta will boost your energy and your metabolism. And what’s more, almost all hotels offer breakfast, on the house. So even if you are on a budget, you still get you fill. So take it.
Diet: No, we don’t mean going on a stringent diet, we just mean to make you aware of what you eat. This will help you avoid the aftermath of such journeys and push you into a starvation diet. Yeah, watching what you consume is most of your battle won. Stick to local food, veggies, legumes, meat, fruits (not juices), potatoes, nuts, etc. Avoid empty calories like aerated drinks.
No cheat days: Whoever devised cheat day? We have a score to settle with them. Cheat days give us the full and guilt-free permission to hog everything delicious we can set our eyes on and grab. While travelling, you are always ‘cheating-eating’. It is a fight to stay fit. So, ‘Ditch the Cheat’
Mutually inclusive: Travelling and leading a fit lifestyle is mutually inclusive. Why should an exercise feel like an exercise? For example: Walk as much as you can. If you are a beach bum, do your lunges, squats, and other workouts that make your silhouette look kickass against the setting sun! Many countries abroad encourage cycling…woah what a jackpot, who wants gym then? So exercise anywhere, anytime…all you require is space to do your work outs and nobody to stop you!!
Every movement counts: If you are the shy types who will not hang-on the bus stop bars for pulls-up then walking is the best fitness routine for you. If you are walking as a form of exercise, then quicken your pace. Don’t walk, march your way. Move your arms as if you are in the military. Move those hips too…let them not lie, we mean lie low!

Party drinks: If you are invited to a party when on your epic quest then chose healthier options like red wine, etc. Sip your drink slowly as if it will go out of fashion tomorrow. Drink water in between your drinks. Yes, dilute you drink in your tummy so that you don’t see the bulge on your waistline. And remember drink in moderation.
Drink lots of water: Don’t we all know that drinking water is healthy. It keeps us feeling full, hydrated, and makes it easy for us to turn our backs on other drinks with empty calories.
Be fit whenever you can: Chuck the “gym or nothing” mindset. Fitness can be the way you live. If you have to stay at a destination for a long time, join some dance classes like Tango or Muay Thai, etc. Better still, sign up for hiking. It is a superb way to meet new people and have fun too.
Take the stairs to your room: Now all those who don’t know that taking the stairs is a good workout, please raise their hands! Exercise those pins, flex your tummy and your butt. Sing a song along and make it all fun.
