Screen Actors Guild Awards, popularly known as SAG awards, is one of the most awaited in the Hollywood arena be it for acting and red carpet looks. This time around, it was not only about bold lips-polished hair looks, princess curls, embellished hair, monochromatic glam looks and coloured wined liners; the natural beauty trend was peeking through all. Here we picked some of the best beauty looks of 26th SAG awards along with a thorough how-to get it done.
Kathryn Newton’s Peachy Babe Look
The Big Little Lies actress Kathryn Newton went all out with her creamy orange flowy frilled gown. The fresh and summery vibe in her lips, eyes and cheeks created a perfect harmony. She did a smooth twisted updo to balance out her cascading dress. Keeping up with the latest fanned brows trend, the star went for a glimmery peach eye with monotone lips and cheek.
Steps to recreate this look:
- Cleanse the skin; moisturise the face and neck. Apply face primer.
- Start by applying foundation that matches your skin tone exactly. Do a sheer layer and add in more if needed.
- Conceal the under eyes and any pigmentation you want to hide.
- Now set everything with a powder foundation or translucent powder.
- Fill the brows. Brush the brow hair upwards and apply clear brow mascara for a defined fanned brow look.
- Tightline the upper lid with a kohl. Define the crease with a sunset orange-toned matte eyeshadow and add a soft flush of the same tone on the eyelid. Now, apply a satin finish muted coral eye shadow on the lids. Blend all the colours and apply shimmer highlighter on the inner corner and brow bone.
- Now apply mascara generously. Add in some individual lashes for a more defined look. You can also wear natural-looking falsies.
- Bronze the face slightly; no harsh lines, please. Finally, apply an earthy coral toned blush and strobe highlighter.
- Finish it off with a matte peach nude lipstick.
Millie Bobby Brown’s Monochrome Look
Millie Bobby Brown has nailed the trick to perfect the monotone look. Makeup artist Kelsey Deenihan has made no mistake while creating her pastel-toned lip look and soft smokey eyes with her centre-parted sleek hair and pastel-toned asymmetric dress. Millie has used makeup from her own line Florence by Mills to create this look.
Steps to recreate this look:
- Cleanse the skin; moisturise the face and neck. Apply face primer.
- Use a corrector under eyes and any pigmentation you wish to hide.
- Apply a foundation that matches your skin tone. Try to create a flawless base because a clear glowing skin is the central attraction for this look.
- Now, comb your brows and fill them with a brown or grey brow powder or cream only if you have scanty brows. Otherwise, comb and set with a clear brow gel for a finished look.
- Apply a brown matte eye shadow with a fluffy brush for a soft wash of colour. Apply the same shadows on the bottom lid with a pencil brush.
- Take a light shimmery rose gold eyeshadow and apply to the inner 2/3 part of the lid. Fill the outer 1/3 part with a shimmery cool brown. The outer V shade should be the deepest one. Now blend all the colours seamlessly. Blend the same shades in the lower lid as well.
- Put on coats of mascara to finish the eye look.
- Apply an earthy peach-toned blush and bronze the face lightly for a chiselled look.
- Dab on an earthy mauve-brown lip colour and top it up with clear gloss to finish the look.
