It was just a matter of time that cold press oils got their due place under the sun. In times when our wellness awareness graph is on the rise oils extracted through cold press techniques are hailed. The recent trend indicates that cold-pressed beauty oils are much in demand for their intrinsic value and goodness and are a go-to product for everything healthy.
Cold press…eh, what is this?
We know that oil, essential oils for wellness and those used for cooking, are extracted from a source. This source can be seed, leaf, root, flower, fruit, nut, bark or fruit.
In a cold-press technique, this source is thrown in a steel container which uses a spinning and puncturing method to crush at a tremendous velocity. The oil slowly rises on top. It is then separated, sieved and filtered and finally packed in a container.
Though this method is laborious it retains much of the nutrients as no chemical is used and negligible heat is applied. It is no wonder then that this technique is a runaway success as it preserves the benefits of the product. This also prevents the product from going rancid. In your kitchen, these organic products will be called ‘virgin’ or ‘extra virgin.’
But what does it do for my beauty?
Because cold press oils are closest to their organic nature it is but natural that they will enhance your loveliness with little or no side effects. Cold press products are especially awesome for those having dry and sensitive skin.
