4. Cinnamon Roll Bunnies

Hop into cuteness overload with these adorable Cinnamon Roll Bunnies! Using ready-made puff pastry makes these flaky, cinnamon-sugar twists surprisingly achievable. Shaping them into bunnies adds a touch of Easter magic, and the creamy, tangy cream cheese frosting piped on as a fluffy tail is the perfect finishing touch. They look impressive but are a joy to assemble!

Prep time: 10 mins
Cook time: 1 hr 20 mins

Ingredients:

Method:

  1. Line 2 baking sheets and dust with all-purpose flour. Roll out each puff pastry sheet to a 10”-10” square.
  2. Brush one sheet with melted butter, leaving ½” border on both sides. In a small bowl, stir granulated sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle over the buttered puff pastry leaving the unbuttered border bare. Brush the border with cold water.
  3. Brush the second pastry sheet with the remaining melted butter, leaving a ½” border on both sides. Place on top of cinnamon sugar sheet, buttered side down. Slightly press down so the sheets stick together. Crimp the borders with a fork to seal.
  4. Cut the sheets in half from the crimped ends to create 2 rectangles. Cut each rectangle horizontally into 8 long strips. Arrange one strip on a baking sheet on its side in a U shape. Keeping the loop at the bottom, twist the 2 top strands around themselves twice to form the ears of the bunny.
  5. Refrigerate the bunny strips for 15-30 mins.
  6. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Bake the bunny twists, rotating the sheets top and bottom after 10 minutes, until golden brown. Let it cool.
  7. In a bowl beat the cream cheese and butter until fluffy add icing sugar, vanilla and salt and mix well.
  8. Spoon the buttercream into a piping bag with a star tip. Pipe a bunny tail into the round centre of each bunny twist.
