Ingredients
- 2 ripe plantains (nendran bananas), sliced lengthwise
- 1 cup all-purpose flour or rice flour
- 2 tbsp sugar
- ¼ tsp turmeric powder
- 1 pinch salt
- Water, as needed
- Oil, for deep frying
Method
- Whisk the flour, sugar, turmeric powder, and salt with water to make a smooth, thick batter.
- Heat oil in a pan for deep frying.
- Dip each plantain slice into the batter, coating it well.
- Slide gently into the hot oil and fry until golden brown on both sides.
- Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
